To All Clients, Colleagues and Friends:
Re: Vioxx Alert
On September 30, 2004, the pharmaceutical giant, Merck
and Company, withdrew the pain relief medication, Vioxx,
from the market. Vioxx was commonly used to treat arthritis.
The medication was withdrawn from the market because
it caused an increased risk of heart attack, stroke
and blood clots. Many people who took this medication
suffered serious injuries.
It is too early to tell who will be eligible for compensation.
There will probably be three classes of claimants, as
follows:
-Those who took Vioxx and suffered a heart attack, stroke,
blood clot or death while taking Vioxx (a certain compensable
claim).
-Those who took Vioxx and had to be tested for the above
problems (a questionable claim).
-Those who took Vioxx, but suffered no ill effects (an
unlikely claim).
If you or a family member or friend have taken Vioxx,
I would be happy to assist you in pursuing a claim against
the manufacturer of this drug. It is important for you
to contact me as soon as possible because the courts
impose strict time limitations on this type of litigation,
and if you wait too long, you may lose your right to
sue.
If I can be of any assistance, or if you have any questions,
please feel free to contact me. As is my usual practice,
there is no charge for this consultation.
Sincerely yours,
Sincerely yours,
